Rewind is in business for two years now and still running smooth. We are looking to fastforward to 2012 with even higher ambitions and make our dreams come true.

From a shop we turned in to interior project managers, think tank contributors, jury members for the Remix project in the design academy in Mechelen.

Rewind maakt kunstwerk voor Boek.be

Prachtig boekmeubel van "Dave Binder voor Rewind" te bezichtigen op tentoonstelling ter ere van 75 jaar Boekenbeurs in Letterenhuis in Antwerpen. Binnenkort meer foto's.

Boek.be gaf ons 75 jaargangen van het Boek in Vlaanderen en vroeg hier een kunstwerk mee te maken. Dave Binder heeft met zijn medewerkers dagenlang geëxperimenteerd en uiteindelijk besloten 69 boeken bladzijde per bladzijde te lijmen. Dit zou leiden tot het beste resultaat om het boek zijn stevigheid te geven. Daarna hebben ze het ondergedompeld in een epoxy coating, wat een secuur werk is en niet voor mensen zonder ervaring. De boeken zijn de bouwstenen geworden van het kunstwerk door ze alleen met lijm en epoxy aan elkaar te bevestigen. Het resultaat is 75 jaargangen vereeuwigd onder een prachtige glanslaag.

Dave Binder koos voor de stoel en een lessenaar. Hierbij week hij af van de originele opdracht. Een fauteuil met een blok. Maar de stoel en de lessenaar vond hij qua symboliek meer spreken. Waar hebben wij en onze schrijvers leren lezen en schrijven? Aan lessenaars. En nog altijd. De basis wordt nog altijd gelegd in het onderwijs om te komen tot schrijverschap.

REPLEX 03 arrived in Rewind!

This table is assembled with old discarded furniture. The typical antique curved legs of cupboards, tables, chairs are sliced in to thin pieces of 3 mm and than laminated on an oak frame ( FSC labeled). The gaps between the slices of furniture are filled up with an epoxy. The customer is free to chose the color of the epoxy. If you want a very unique stylish table, than you are welcome to visit us in our showroom.

We've got a new collection of baskets by the hand of Piet Hein Eek in cooperation with Fair Trade Original. The baskets and tableware are made of palmwood or Buxus. Not to be confused with the palm that delivers oil and is devastating for the rainforest.

Remix! exhibition 5th of march in Rewind

Students from the design academy of the Lessius Hogeschool in Mechelen were instructed to work around re-use. They had to pick one object from the second hand shop and turn it into a better and more usable object than it was before.

Rewind was in the jury together with the teacher designers to judge the creations on their usability, originality, sustainability and their commercial feasibility.

A part of the results can be seen in Rewind the month of march. The exposition will be opened with a drink.

Word jij de jongste designer van het land?

Mevrouwtje&Meneertje is het label van Liesbeth Wouters voor baby en peuterkleding. De T-shirts zijn van biologische katoen en worden bedrukt met milieuvriendelijke waterinkten. De tekeningen op de T-shirts zijn van kinderen die meedoen aan de tekenwedstrijden van Rewind.

De winnaars van de tekenwedstrijd krijgen hun tekening op de T-shirts gedrukt. Ze zijn de designers van het T-shirt en krijgen hun eigen label aan elk T-shirt met naam, leeftijd en een foto van de jonge ontwerper.

Per verkocht T-shirt gaat er 1€ naar het kinderkankerfonds vzw.

Dus heb je kinderen, ken je kinderen tot 10 jaar of geef je les aan een school en wil je een leuke activiteit begin dan maar alvast te tekenen.

Emeco Navy 111 is aangekomen

De Navy 111 bestaat zoals de naam al een beetje verraad uit 111 gerecycleerde Coca-Cola flesjes. Een stoel uit gerecycleerde PET flessen dus. In de traditie van Emeco zijn deze stoelen, zoals zijn grote aluminium broertjes en zusjes, onverwoestbaar. In Rewind zijn ze te verkrijgen in Coca-Cola rood, sneeuwwit, Koolsteen zwart. We've got two new colours in our collection of Gascase Diesel and Fuel. Airline Blue and San Francisco Orange. They are made of old gascans from the German army. Some are over 30 years old, but verysolid! These ultimate funky travelcases or fit for flying! Vijf! Kabellamp

We zijn heel trots op een nieuwe ontwerper in ons gamma. Ontwerplabel Vij5 is opgericht als samenwerking tussen Arjan van Raadshooven en Anieke Branderhorst. Vij5 past in het straatje van Rewind met hun kabellamp. Als basis gebruiken ze een oude lampenkap. Daar rond vlechten ze elektriciteitskabels en creëren ze een nieuw uniek stuk.

Mevrouwtje&Meneertje is ready. This label, a concept by Liesbeth Wouters, is only sold in Rewind in Antwerp. She organizes a drawing contest for kids. The best drawings are chosen to be printed on a shirt for baby's and toddlers, from birth till 2 years. The kids who won the contest are the youngest designers of Belgium. They receive fame for ever! The T-shirts are made of biological cotton and we only use environmentally friendly inks. For every T-shirt sold we donate 1€ to" Kinderkankerfonds vzw".

Gino Rizzi is een Italiaanse kunstenaar die in Parijs furore maakte met zijn insecten uit afvalplastic. Hij creëert een universum op microniveau. Het plastic herovert op een aangename manier zijn plaats in onze maatschappij. Op 29 april zijn jullie uitgenodigd op de vernissage in de Riemstraat . Heel de maand mei, zal een expositie lopen en kan je zijn creaties bewonderen en kopen.

Vinyl. Als vloerbedekking is het niet het meest stijlvolle materiaal. Maar omgeturnd tot handtassen of een aktetas krijgt het een chique look. Het Franse bedrijf Reversible gebruikt voor veel van haar producten afgedankt materiaal en maakt daar voornamelijk accessoires mee. Rewind als locatie voor een fotoshoot ( Feeling Wonen) en onze producten staan tussen gevestigde namen zoals Habitat, Ikea e.a. ( Flair, Feeling Wonen) . We vinden dat voor een jong bedrijfje een mooie stap in de goede richting. Het artikel in Bizz magazine focust op jonge ondernemers die startten in een crisis. Wij dus ook. Let op de komische pose van zaakvoerder Liesbeth Wouters op de foto! We zijn blij dat de media vaak over ons berichten, maar jullie trouwe klanten zijn onze belangrijkste bron van promotie. Rewind houdt een pop-up shop open in het bespreekbureau van de Vooruit in Gent tijdens de happening van Ecomotive 1.0. Ecomotive 1.0 is een elfdaagse happening over gestyled duurzaam leven met tentoonstellingen, workshops, open ateliers etc... . Ze stellen zich de vraag: “ Hoe kan hergebruik commercieel interessant worden?” Rewind gaat alvast een deel van het antwoord geven op 20 en 21 maart in het bespreekbureau van de Vooruit!
